November 2006 - Attended the Association of Bridal Consultants "Business of Brides" annual conference in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The principal speakers included internationally known wedding and event designer Preston Bailey. Millie Martini Bratten, editor-in-chief of the conde Nast Bridal Group (Brides, Modern Bride and Elegant Bride). Other presentations included well know celebrity photographers, David Brenowitz and Barry Staver.

July 2006 / 2007 - Chosen to be on the judging committee for the Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, for the Emerging Entrepreneur Category.
May 2006 - Judged the YWCA Women of Distinction Awards for the Trades, Professions and Entrepreneurship category.
April 2006 - Appointed to a two-year term to Women's Place South of Niagara by their Board of Directors.
March 2006 - Co-Hosted the 2006 Niagara Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, held at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel

The principal speakers included Peggy Post the Etiquette Expert, Carol Beaugard a Public Relations Guru, Christopher Aldama Event Designer and Barbara Wallace Master Bridal Consultant.
November 2004 - Attended the Association of Bridal Consultants "Business of Brides" annual conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The principal speakers included Carley Roney of The Knot.com, Tim Lundy, an expert in event and design production and Catering Consultant Richard Wilner.
January 2004 - Renewed contract for another two-year term as Canadian Coordinator for the Association of Bridal Consultants.
November 2002 - Attended the Association of Bridal Consultants "Business of Brides" annual conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. Studied "Growing your Business Beautifully" under Colin Cowie, and seminars including "Hot Trends in Catering" and "Wedding Strategies".

January 2002 - Attained the distinguished title of Accredited Bridal Consultant through the Association of Bridal Consultants, becoming the first and only person in Canada to reach this level of proficiency. Renewed contract for another two-year term as Canadian Coordinator for the Association of Bridal Consultants, becoming the first certified wedding planner in the Niagara area.
May 2001 - Attended Bridal Week in New York City with senior members of the Association of Bridal Consultants and met with the following distinguished wedding professionals:

August 2000 - Completed "The A to Z's of Professional Table Service" by Ian Maksik, "Professor of Service" and owner of the only school dedicated to the teaching of Formal Table Service.
January 2000 - Appointed Canadian Coordinator for the Association of Bridal Consultants.
November 1999 - Attended the Association of Bridal Consultants "Business of Brides" annual conference in New Orleans, LA. Studied the "Art of the Wedding" presented by Colin Cowie, the industries leading wedding expert and celebrity wedding planner.
January 1998 - Completed the Professional Development Program with the Association of Bridal Consultants, attaining a 96% average, earning the designation "Professional Bridal Consultant, Distinguished Graduate", becoming the first certified wedding planner in the Niagara area.
September 1996 - Began operating present day business, Occasions in Niagara, a full service wedding consulting company in the Niagara region.
