Frequently Asked Questions about our wedding services:
Other than planning my Niagara Falls wedding, can you help plan other things to do while we are in Niagara Falls?
Occasions in Niagara can assist in planning group activities around the time of your wedding such as wedding rehearsal dinners, wine tours, golfing or attending a local theater production. Remember, your wedding can double as a vacation for everyone who attends.
If we have a wedding party and guests can we get a special hotel rate?
Occasions in Niagara has relationships with some of the best hotels in Niagara and can help you with obtaining group rates for yourself and any guests that are coming to your wedding. Please note: There are a minimum amount of rooms required to obtain a wedding group rate.
I would like to use an outdoor wedding location for my wedding ceremony. What happens if it rains?
We always have a back-up chapel booked for your wedding ceremony in case of inclement weather the day of your wedding.
How do I find my wedding ceremony site when I arrive?
When you book your Niagara Falls wedding with Occasions in Niagara, we will drop off maps and directions at your hotel for everywhere you will need to go while here for your wedding (City Hall for the license, wedding chapel or outdoor site, etc). Just let us know where you are staying and we'll do the rest.
What do I do with the wedding dress once I get it there and what about a tuxedo?
We understand that the wedding dress can get a little wrinkled on your trip here and we'll recommend a dry cleaner that can steam your dress once you've arrived in Niagara Falls to make sure it looks like the day you brought it home. We also have companies for tuxedo rentals that we can recommend to you.
Send a Save the Date Letter
If you are planning on inviting guests to your Niagara Falls wedding, consider a "Save the Date" letter. Wedding invitations are commonly sent six to eight weeks before the event, however with a destination wedding you need to give your guests more notice. Keep in mind they will need to make travel plans and also get time off work to attend. A friendly little form letter with pertinent info (Niagara Falls wedding location and wedding date) will do nicely. If you have a hotel you would like everyone to stay at, you should include that as well. You may want to send out a Niagara Falls wedding package to your guests about 3-4 months ahead of time, which can include information about the Niagara Falls area, special places to visit, closest airport, and climate. Be sure to include information about the wedding time and type of clothing.
Let Some Things Go
If possible, your wedding should also act as a vacation for you both. Try not to get so caught up in the little wedding details that you can't enjoy your time. Figure out what's important to you, and label the rest of it "small stuff" that you won't sweat. That will free you up to sightsee, relax, play, and do what all of your guests are doing here in Niagara Falls!
Plan Your Packing
When buying your dress, get advice on how you should pack your dress for travel. Make sure you have the right-sized suitcase or box ahead of time. If you're flying, plan to carry it on. You may even want to call your airline ahead of time and let them know you'll be bringing it with you. Ask your wedding coordinator for an appointment to have your dress steamed for when you arrive in town.
Make Reservations Early
Many hotels are booked months in advance, especially during the peak wedding season. Encourage your guests to make reservations as soon as they receive their Niagara Falls wedding information from you (or as soon as possible).
